The Booststory Bamboo Dining Chair set combines the exceptional structural properties of strand-woven bamboo with the comfort enhancement of a removable upholstered seat pad, producing a dining chair that is lighter than a solid hardwood equivalent, stronger than most softwoods, and visually distinctive in the way that no other material can replicate. Strand-woven bamboo is produced by shredding bamboo into fiber strands, impregnating those strands with a food-safe resin binder, and compressing the composite under high pressure into a material that is denser and harder than oak or ash — achieving a Janka hardness rating of approximately 15,000 N compared to white oak’s 5,900 N. The chair frame is machined from solid strand-woven bamboo billets using Booststory’s precision CNC routing process, producing the clean, smooth curves of the backrest and the precise angles of the leg joints without the grain-splitting risk that limits the complexity of shapes achievable in conventional timber. The backrest features three vertical slats at 12mm width with 20mm gaps between slats, providing lumbar support through the lower third of the back while maintaining the visual openness that prevents the chair from blocking sightlines across the table. The removable seat pad is upholstered in a water-repellent woven fabric in four color options — oatmeal, charcoal, forest green, and terracotta — secured to the seat frame with four stainless steel quarter-turn fasteners that allow the pad to be removed for cleaning or replacement without tools.
